Upstairs (via elevator) from the main concourse is the lounge AeroMexico uses for its international business class passengers.

a group of people at a reception

If you do not have Priority Pass access, from any number of high end travel cards like the non-Delta Amex Platinum personal (learn more and compare) and business cards (learn more and compare), you will need to get a pass when you check-in with AeroMexico in Quito.

a wall with art on it

Do note Priority Pass states 3 hours maximum visit. I believe this restriction is waived for AeroMexico business class visitors.

a room with chairs and tables

Our visit (twice) was early in the morning and the space was wide open.

a room with couches and a tv

Seating was plentiful and comfortable with ample power outlets thoughout the lounge (standard US).

a room with chairs and tables

Due to our early AM visit I did not visit the bar but per the Priority Pass site it alerts you that: “Complimentary drinks are limited to beer only, spirits and/or wine are limited to two per adult with a valid boarding pass.”

a room with blue chairs and a table

I really liked the “feel” of this lounge compared to others with this large of a space. For example, the KLM clubs, while large and open, pack so many seats into a large open space that it feels like a cafeteria.

a table and chairs outside a window

I like the work done to create a more private and comfortable space.

a door in a room

At the far end of the lounge is a sleeping or napping room. I love these in clubs but be sure to set an alert on your phone (I almost missed a flight once napping in a lounge). As to the “spa”, it was not open during our visit (either time).

a collage of doors

The showers are simply in a room at the end of the public bathrooms. Maybe a bit strange to not have it separate but from a plumbing perspective maybe it is simpler (reaching a bit here).

a shelf with newspapers on it

I have not picked up a “real” newspaper in years other than the free one I get at home now and then and use it to light my fireplace (digital is better).

a menu board with a sandwich on it

On to the food. You can request a number of sandwiches or…

a buffet table with food on it

a coffee machine in a bar

There is also a buffet with mini sandwiches, salad as well as some hot choices.

a plate of scrambled eggs and pastry

I chose a light option, that is, scrambled eggs with ham and a pastry with some kind of shredded pork (I believe). Both were fine but not memorable.

a parking lot with a bridge over it

a building with grass and a field

Overall this is a pleasant lounge. Wifi speed was decent and the views of the mountains and runway (when the clouds went away) were a delight to see. The gates are only a minute or two away so no need to leave until close to boarding time.

Have you visited the Sala VIP lounge in Quito? – René

I have been in this lounge at least 5 times, and find it pleasant enough. It can get very crowded, and even as a solo traveler seating can be a challenge. It beats the other Priority Pass lounge in the Quito Airport Center, although as a side note, they do have a nice food court in the Center and nice outside seating that any first can use. It is the best lounge I have access too in UIO.

Ditto it is a nice lounge. We got there as it opened so had the place to ourselves! Enjoyed the food and mountain view.

All Sala VIP lounges in a nutshell:
crappy cheese and mystery meat sandwiches that have been proabably sitting out for days.

I have spent many hours in this lounge and it is pleasant. As you mentioned, I was able to stay more than 3 hours when traveling business class on Aeromexico. They served fresh shrimp and sushi when I was there and it was tasty. Nice review.
