Don’t think Delta has forgotten about you if you have yet to receive your 2019 Medallion kit / credentials as they are late this year for everyone. If you are a million miler then you should have those in the mail by now (but some are still waiting). They are not very impressive and they will not be going on my bag. The good news, as I posted about a while back, is that for Diamonds the tags will be metal again vs. the cheap plastic that went out last year. Also remember, Gold and Silver Medallions tags will not be returning until next year, 2020.
How much longer are we going to have to wait to get them? Delta representatives have commented on the FlyerTalk frequent flyer chat board and said this:
“Hi from the SkyMiles team. We’ve seen your comments and know some of you are still waiting to receive the brand-new Million Miler tags and new Medallion welcome kits. Some mailings are taking a little longer than we expected, but we promise we’re on it!
We did want to mention that Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members who re-qualified for the same Tier in 2018 will be receiving their new welcome kits with employee “thank you” certificates by the end of April 2019 at the latest.
Keep in mind, just like your drink tickets, membership cards have now gone digital! With your membership card at your fingertips 24/7 in the Fly Delta app, welcome kits no longer include a physical membership card. In addition to the Fly Delta app, you can also print a card from My Wallet at delta.com anytime.” – Delta Air Lines SkyMiles rep on FlyerTalk.com
So we keep waiting. As Delta points out you can get your HOOU coupons either in the Fly Delta App or from Delta.com. I checked mine and have 4 of them expiring end of January 2020 and 4 more expiring end of 2021. If you are going to be on a CRJ200 with no Gogo wifi you will want to print them or do a screen shot of the digital coupon before you get up in the air. – René

The best welcome kit they could give me is reducing the Amex Credit Card waiver from 250K!
No physical member cards? I went through this with United last year. Great idea unless you travel any of their partner airlines and wanting alliance benefits for check-in, security, lounges, etc.
@Stefan – Agree. Gold Medallions+ should have them. Once in Gothenburg they were going to charge me a bag fee unless I had my card.
I received my metal Diamond tags last week, so they are getting out there. Definitely later than last year, though.
@Aaron – Thanks for data point! Are they like the metal tags from years before?
@rene They are indeed a solid hunk of metal – I wasn’t diamond for the previous metal tags but from the ones I’ve seen, they’re the same.
