There are few domestic lounges as popular, and impressive, as the Dallas DFW Centurion. When it opened years ago it set a standard of quality, amenities and services that to this day few others can match.
But offering, and delivering, on so much (including unlimited free spa services) has had some consequences.
For example, in an attempt to limit a real overcrowding problem, a change was made last year that upset many families as a card member was limited to 2 guests period with cards like the non-Delta Amex Business Platinum card. And day passes from an Amex card has also been limited when they are near capacity.
All this may change as early this summer as I can confirm the DFW lounge is moving to a new location near the old one and will be expanding! The restaurant manager, Steven shared with me the new lounge will have all the features of the old one but add about 25% more space over the current footprint and have a much more open architecture.
I can not wait to see what they come up with and just how much better this concept in lounges can become and what new ones may be in the works down the line. – Rene

I am sitting in the current lounge at this very moment. Any word on where specifically it will be? Not thinking the bartender will know…
@JakePB – June or July open date.
Was this the secret you tweeted about yesterday, Rene, or was that a Delta secret? If there’s other Delta news I was going to guess the news was, thanks to the great corporate tax breaks, Delta was giving Medallion members double the miles or some such added perk!
@Kathy B – This was the news I was tweeting about.
Great news. I was there on Wednesday and it was very crowded. Almost no free seats available and the line was ten+ deep to get to the food.
I hope the new lounge has an outside view. Makes a big difference. -Bob
