The other day I talked about the one card that never EVER leaves my wallet (and is even better now that it is flatter). If you don’t hold this card, and travel, you will miss out on places like this:
The House Spirits Distillery (HSD) at Portland’s PDX Airport near gate C6 is a Priority Pass Partner. There are, as of this post publish date, 4 partners in PDX. An Alaska Lounge plus the HSD and two other restaurants. At the latter 3 you can spend $28 free per person free via your Priority Pass card. The non-Delta Amex Business Platinum card gets you, via Priority Pass, the perk for you +2 guests.
This means you can do quite a bit of free spending if you are visiting with some friends. Notice what the T&C from PriorityPass.com say about the HSD:
“Conditions – 1. Cardholders can use their lounge visit entitlement to receive US$28 off the bill. Each US$28 deduction represents a single lounge visit within the Cardholder’s existing lounge visit allocation for which the Cardholder will, where applicable, be charged. E.g. if a Cardholder registers 1 Guest they will receive US$56 off their bill which will be charged as 1 Cardholder visit + 1 Guest visit on their account. Only 1 card per visit per Cardholder will be accepted and at point of registration.
Additional Information – 2. The US$28 is valid for the purchase of any meal and/or drinks excl. bottle sales & merchandise. To be eligible, Cardholders must present a valid card before placing an order and must be 21 years or older. 3. US$28 is non-transferable & cannot be exchanged for cash substitute or refund if the final bill is lower than US$28 per person. 4. Cardholder is responsible for the balance if total final bill exceeds US$28 per person. Any remaining balance cannot be used towards gratuity.” – PriorityPass.com – bold mine
Thus you can NOT get stuff to go. You are to enjoy the card perks at each location. I did not have much time during my visit (since I was on a Delta elite mileage run) so I tested the $28 sampler flight for myself and a friend.
In addition to the above, two other drinks were included as well. Yeah, way too much to finish and I just sampled a little bit of each one (other than the moonshine that just smelled awful).
One important reminder – tips are NOT included when you visit with your Priority Pass card so be sure to do the math and tip appropriately.
Bottom line is I love that Priority Pass is expanding beyond just lounge access in a number of airports across the country. I do expect this trend to continue and that just keeps adding value to high end travel cards I hold long term like the non-Delta Amex Business Platinum card.
Have you had a chance to visit this or any of the other locations in PDX that will pick up the tab for up to $28 per person in spending? – René

I use the digital versions of the card(s) so it’s never in my wallet, but it is on my phone. Haven’t had any denials or issues, even overseas.
I haven’t visited PDX lately to try HSD or one of the other new PP options. However I was recently in DEN and was surprised that there is a new PP option there as well, Timberline Steaks & Grille. PPs expansion into restaurants and minute suites is a great addition. Just remember to regularly update your PP app lounge data because these types of opportunities seem to be cropping up all the time.

PGA MSP Airport is also a PP location but the credit is only $15. Amex Platinum card holders also have access to the MSP Escape lounge.
@john
Thanks for the tip on the PGA Lounge at MSP. That’s a cool way to kill some time between flights.
