This one is GOLDEN folks and you can, with a HT to tomasdev on FT, route from NYC and other locations. I would look at this one in 1st class vs coach as the value is much higher. The best part is it is same day turn i.e. no overnight. To score this kind of MQMs in about 24 hours is simply amazing. If I needed MORE MQMs I would jump all over this one. Just stunning.

This one is also available in March/April/May 2018 on some dates. If you wanted to make it a run/mini-vacation combo, it’s $866 to stay 3 nights (plus hotel, obv) but you’ll likely shave off ~750 MQMs with only one connection in ATL on the return. That price would slightly violate your < 8/cpm rule for F, but if you want to spend a bit of time in South America, I think it's worth it.
Quito is at 9300 ft ASL though, so if you're prone to altitude sickness, perhaps you're better off doing the turn-and-burn.
Any concerns about the quick turn around in Quito? Is 1 hour enough time to get through customs and re-enter for boarding? Are “milage runs” a red flag for customs agents? Thanks for the advice!

I just spoke to Diamond desk about this and the 1 hour turn around is cutting it way close. According to the Delta 360 desk, her system wouldn’t for her to make a round trip entry. She could only do one way then the return. I’m curious to see if anyone has been to QUI and could provide some feedback.
I also just chatted with a Diamond desk rep who didn’t express much concern about the timing of the quick turn….he said that system parameters will not allow a booking that does not meet Delta’s minimum int’l connection threshold of 60 minutes.
For my run in two weeks, the turnaround time is 68 minutes….we will see, I might book an airport hotel room as a backup…
