Where do I begin? How about with the sense of dread you should feel when you pull up your boarding pass in the Fly Delta App and your gate changes from T2 or T3 maybe (yes that happened to me!)? Or, depending on where you are flying, arriving at T3 only to learn you have to go to T2 to check your bag and then go back to T3? Or, the crush of humanity in this tiny space?
One nice thing is the new check-in kiosks replacing the 1990’s Apple style Bondi Blue’s?
Once you do have boarding pass in hand, if you have expedited security, try to get past the mob that will block expedited screening.
I will give CLEAR credit at even at just after 4AM they were open and, once I got to the TSA Security entrance, I was through in no time at all!
If you like retro, you will love T3. If you are not into the nostalgia of bygone years maybe not so much. But if you are at these gates it is a bit better than what is farther down the concourse.
You can go either way and end up at the same place full of gates next to each other.
Delta does tell us “BIG THINGS” are arriving but to me the brilliant location of this trash can says more than I or Delta ever could about T3.
While this space may look rather grand and inviting this is 4AM LAX time. During most of the rest of the day expect to see this:
What a miserable travel experience. There is just nothing positive to say about this Delta “enhancement” to the LAX experience.
I am not sure if you noticed just past security that there are restrooms. Go to those as there can be long lines and the nasty ones by these gates.
Honestly I think the photos above say more than I ever could. In my review of T2 I said, if you can, avoid LAX for the next few years until they spend a few billion in improvements. I say this 10x over when to comes to T3. Just don’t go here. – René

Ok but they have shake shack in T3. You can also take delta shuttle to international terminal and chill in KAL lounge if you have priority pass. Also food and seating is much better on international terminal. Just trying to sugar coat it.
Wow. Just awful. It’s like flying out of T1 in Manila. (Which isn’t a good thing)
“What you can expect” – if your layover is long enough, you can expect to take the bus over to T2 or TBIT, haha.
I completely agree Rene, T3 is a shambles, just awful. I’ve landed there twice in the last month with jetbridges that didnt function!
