I have already talked about in this post series about the time you need to allow to transfer and that there can be any number of frustrations with the current setup to take the Delta shuttle bus from terminal to terminal with Delta (secure side transfers). For some it may simply be faster to exit the terminal and walk and re-clear security (if you have CLEAR and TSA PreCheck that is).
No, this post is more about just how much fun this can be if you have the time and are a total AVgeek or Aviation geek / fan and want to get a unique view of jets.
From T3 even just waiting for the shuttle is neat as you are outside taking in the total airport experience.
There are a number of setups inside the buses with some almost wide open and you stand while others look more like this one with CRJ200 type 2+2 seating. Either way you are allowed to stay on the bus as long as you want and there is no charge so….
Why not take in a Delta wide body 777 and think about what those in Delta One are about to enjoy for dinner and where they are going?
Or watch a tug driver zip by (any luggage fall out maybe) and then think about the 757 that just passed by and think, is it going to Hawaii or back east – who knows!
Or, on the way back from say the TBIT get crazy fun views of jets lined up to take off and watch others coming in to land so close you can almost touch them. Yeah, I am so into this.
Just as an FYI yes, clearly you can take the shuttle from and to any of the 3 Delta served terminals – that is, T2 or T3 or TBIT or the “B” International terminal. If you do that latter one note it is a LONG walk to the central area where shops and lounges (think KAL lounge you could visit if you have priority pass) are located.
Lastly, in addition to the amazing jet views, you sometimes have the pleasure of seeing your fellow passengers put their dirty feet up on the seats and take up a number of seats while others have to stand (sigh)!
Anyway, if you have enough time and are into plane spotting as much as I am why not embrace your inner child and ride around on the Delta LAX shuttle for a little while. – René

I think you meant the KAL lounge at TBIT. It is very comfortable and has a balcony overlooking the shops but food and beverages have gone downhill somewhat.
@John – I think that is what I said yes. And yes it has gone very much downhill (very dirty now) but the views on the balcony are amazing.
You said KLM but linked to your KAL lounge post. 🙂
There is something about America. The KE FAs and reps at the First and Prestige class lounges at ICN are super nice. At the two KE lounges that I’ve visited in the US, LAX and JFK, the reps are downright snotty.
@John – Ugg yes KAL ugg.. fixing now 🙂
Download Flightradar on your mobile phone, zoom in on LAX and you can see the aircraft on the ground taxiing (if they have their transponder on). That way you do not have to guess where they are going
