Amex has made some changes that recently upset families in limiting how many can come in free of you have the non- Delta AMEX Platinum card (personal or business). I am not weighing in on the controversy of kids vs. adults but I can tell you the manager in the Dallas DFW location has said it has had a small impact at reducing the volume of people in the club that can get really packed during busy travel times (you can bring 2 guests with you free with the cards btw).
Anyway, one of the reasons the club is so popular is the quality of just about everything. The food, as you can see from the above, is just a tiny bit better than the offerings in the Sky Club or just about any domestic club I have visited.
But in addition to the food and complimentary top shelf drinks there is also a spa at the club. Most days they have both manicures and chair massages free (note some days only massages). They are setup with up to 3 therapists at a time and the spa is staffed from 8AM to 8PM.
But how many times can you enjoy a treatment during a visit to the club and are you limited to one of each? The simple answer is:
You can enjoy unlimited treatments!
Yep, if you happen to be there all day long (either by choice or due to flight issues) you can simply request as many as you would like. However, you have to complete one session before you go and request another and it may be a long times (think hours) between open times.
Bottom line, when you consider each 15-20 minute chair massage at an XpresSpa could cost you $40-50 you can see, even if you have to pay to get into this lounge ($50 per visit if you don’t have the Platinum card) can be well worth it if you have along enough layover! – Rene

Not sure how I missed the change in guesting policy. I am the primary cardholder for my Amex Platinum account. My wife is an authorized user ($175 extra) on my account
If I wish to enter a Centurion lounge along with my wife and two kids, do I end up paying $50 for one of them? Or, can I bring my two kids in for free and my wife (authorized user) uses her card to enter?
Thanks for the clarification.
@JP – All card holders including AUs can bring in 2 guests.
So, Mr. Massage obsessed Rene just how many massages did you finally get at the Centurion Club when you were there the final day only ??? Inquiring minds want to know. Was it 6, 7 or 8?
@Texas Yankee – Let’s just say it was a personal 1 day record! 😉
Good to know since I have a few trips to Dallas coming up.
Sorry if I’m misinterpreting, but in follow-up to your response (#2 above), I can bring in 2 guests and my wife can bring in 2 guests? I think that’s what you’re stating.
Many thanks!
@JP – You plus any 2 guests.
