This is some great news we have been waiting for a long time to come. It seem the Android updated is 4.0 and iOS is 3.0 (don’t tease me Android needs MORE updates). Just take a quick peek at what is included:
What’s New in Fly Delta 4.0
•”Today” now seamlessly integrates your boarding pass into one screen. Simply tap the Check In button to begin
•Your electronic boarding pass will now automatically update
•Today now reflects your current SkyMiles Medallion status.
•Track My Bags now has a “Track On Map” button – allow you to follow your bag’s journey on a map
•Bug fixes and performance enhancements
Again this is all just great news. Until now I have always done a screen shot of my boarding pass and after that all but ignored the app as gate info or seat info or whatever has not worked. Now, it seems, I can start to use the Fly Delta APP all day long! #KeepClimbing worthy.
As to the digital color showing your Medallion status I guess these are the new digital “brag tags” we now can enjoy and the only one Silver and Golds get to anyway.
Are you flying today? Have you upgraded and is it working as advertised? Any bugs? Let us know! – René

Just flew today and updated the app on my iPhone right before boarding, so did not have a chance to check out the automatic boarding pass update feature. I like the new “today” look, but manually pull-down update can still be slow. Seat map was updated so it is now all-in-one just like on a desktop page, so much better and no need to swipe in and out to check the seat maps when booking.
Also like the new complete seat maps — However cannot seem to see seat maps for multi leg journeys, just one flight at a time. Don’t know if it currently affects only Android users?
Rough day traveling and my bag is pictured on the tarmac while the plane is in the alleyway. That wasn’t reality, but I can see it leading to more questions than the value of the “see my bag” function.

Excellent news Rene
Thanks for the delta app update info!
What a happy day!
If you aren’t flying today but click today in the app, it crashes.

Haven’t updated yet, but curious to see if they finally corrected the “after midnight” issue present in previous releases.

@Elizabeth – LOL another reader had bag in SFO when it was still in China. It seems Delta PR is way ahead of Delta IT (I am shocked, no, not really)!
