The CLUB at MCO Orlando Florida review RenesPoints blog (1)

I love choice. I really love international style lounges in the US and their completion forces others, like Delta Sky Clubs, to improve their offerings as you can see from some of the “The Clubs” I have reviewed previously.

The Club at MCO is just across from the Delta Sky Club and will be my club of choice when visiting Orlando. You can gain entrance with a number of standard cards but the most popular that most will have is Priority Pass from cards like  The Platinum Card® from American Express. If you look for gates 90-99 you cannot miss it.

Like the Sky Club next door The Club is upstairs. Check in was quick and simple and I was welcomed and given the wifi code. The staff also explained the layout of the club and that drinks were complimentary as well as the food choices and when they would be out (I was there just before lunch). Also that there were showers should I wish to use them.

Right behind the entrance wall were complimentary newspapers to enjoy or take with me.

The Bar / dining area is also directly behind check in and central to the club. The staff was attentive and often checked on me to see if there was anything I needed. Impressive, but to be fair the club was mostly empty most of the time I was there.

In addition to bar seating, there is some seating in the food area. The choices, for a smaller club, were impressive. Several hot choices with a Mideast flair. Soup, sandwiches and more as you can see.

I still cannot understand why domestic lounges cannot offer small sandwich choices such as these. Sure you can assemble your sandwich own in some Sky Clubs but you should not have to.

Just forward and left of the entrance is a very nice sized work room. The main area is a shared work space but you also have PC, printer and two private work rooms to use.

Now left of entrance again you have a hallway with additional seating as well as a kids room.

Behind the entrance you have a very nice space to enjoy some light and very comfortable seating as well as a small refreshment area if you don’t want to walk back to the bar or food area. I really like the modern feel of this club.

Lastly, just right of entrance you have the showers and lavatories. Overall I was most impressed with this club and look forward to my next visit. Wifi speed was very good and from the service to the food offerings all were pleasing and impressive. A big step up from the experience at the Sky Club just across the concourse. – René

René, thanks for the review of The Club at MCO. I fly out of MCO every week and didn’t even know the club existed. It sounds great. I’ll be sure to check it out.

@Wayne – You will never go back to the Sky Pub once you do! 😉

Thanks for the heads-up. I fly out with my family several times per year and have always used the Delta Sky Club. It costs $58 to get my kids into that Club (my wife has an Amex Platinum card, so no direct charge for her).

It sounds like this is a nicer club and that I would not have to pay for my kids! Win win!

With the Priority Pass you get with Citi Prestige card you can guest 2 other people or your family. It’s really a great deal and I will likely just keep that card and get rid of AE platinum as the downgrade of benifits is to much.

I have my run today – driving from Jacksonville to Orlando and you taught me two things. I signed up for Clear (Thanks Delta Diamond) which I will complete today when I go and I will visit this lounge… Thanks so Much Rene!

Strangely the MCO club near gates 90-99 did not accept my platinum Amex -only the Delta Club at gate 70 did.

@Dbibz – You must get the priority pass card (free from your Platinum card).
