Here is another great domestic mileage run that René did just last week. Another almost same-day run, although it really is an overnight flight between New York City and New Orleans. Leave either at 7:00am or 11:00am and connect through Salt Lake City and then you are off to New Orleans. You can a short night in New Orleans or a long layover and get back to New York early the next evening, around 6:00pm.
6,834 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM’s) will be your reward for this quick trip on Delta Air Lines. Now, I have only found one date that works; April 6th with a return on the 7th.
Let me caution anyone thinking they might get upgraded to First Class on these flights. It is probably not going to happen flying into and out of Salt Lake City.
One of my greatest discomforts is when I fly a mileage run through a Delta hub which is heavy-Medallion territory and your chances of getting a complimentary upgrade is minimal. That is why this run as a simple overnight is tolerable and a good value for a little more than $200.
Anyway here are the numbers:
The Details:
MQM’s: 6,834 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM’s)
Fare: $223
Cost: 3.3 Cents Per Mile (CPM)

I like this trip since it is still before Delta’s change on Comfort+ booking policies. That happens for travel on or after May 16th, 2016. There are many Comfort+ seats still available for your selection on these four segments.

Fares dropping fast since last week
Ex GRU to MIA/CLT possibly others
RT from 350-425 w/ tons of duration layovers to choose from….many routings including JFK & DFW.
Haven’t checked other Brazil starting points.
3.0-3.1 CPM and many longhaul legs look like they would have tremendously good odds of clearing SWU to biz.
