2016 is going to be a different year than all the ones preceding it when it comes to all things points, status and travel. We all have to be ready to learn how to earn and burn and to network with those who are immersed in the travel game. You have two great shots this year to learn so much and from two very different travel events.
I will be speaking at both of these events in 2016. The first one is FTU in Vegas April 29-May1st. In addition to sharing some things I never ever blog about Delta Air Lines, I will also talk about Mileage Runs and an introduction to MS. It should be a really fun educational weekend. In addition to yours truly you can learn from:
— Ben Schlappig (One Mile at a Time)
— René de Lambert (Eye of the Flyer)
— Tahsir Ahsan (Bengali Miles Guru)
— Tiffany Funk (One Mile at a Time)
— Jamie Larounis (The Forward Cabin)
— Greg Davis-Kean (Frequent Miler)
— Edward Pizzarello (Pizza in Motion)
— Omar Zaman (Travel Summary)
— Daraius Dubash (Million Mile Secrets)
— Summer Hull (Mommy Points)
— Matthew Klint (Live and Let’s Fly)
Some of the events are already SOLD OUT, but fear not, some of the best tips come from outside the session networking and sharing with both speakers and attendees. But, you cannot learn if you are not at the event. So make your plans now.
The next event has just officially been announced. It is the legendary Chicago Seminars October 14th-16th. I have been at this event ever since the very 1st year. I have volunteered my time and been speaking for a number of years as well. Tickets are NOT on sale yet but they normally come online in late March or early April. I hear a rumor that there may be less tickets sold this year so I would not wait once they are posted.
How to decide if you can only attend one? If you are new, or have never ever been to a frequent flyer event, come to Chicago in the fall. You will feel warmly welcomed and it is such a great event for those who are new to the game. Trust me, you will be blown away by the amount of information that will be shared. If you are more advanced in the game, come to FTU this April.
I hope to see you at either of these two fun events, at an airport lounge along the way or up in the air flying somewhere fun in 2016! – René

For FTU when should the schedule be published? Or better still can you tell me when I should arrive by, and what time it is over, without MS? Thanks
@Carole – I am told the schedule will be up soon. Stay tuned.
Might go to the Chicago Seminars if I can get my drivers license sorted out by that time!
Hey Rene, It’s the end of April and I haven’t heard anything about the Chicago Seminars….do you have any info?
@Carol – I think we are days away from tickets going on sale. Very soon. Stand by.
