I have a very nice Samsung 8.4″ tablet I use almost every day. It is fast. The resolution is amazing. But it has some drawbacks. It is rather big and heavy. I have found for reading “books” a smaller tablet is nice. So thus the reason I wanted to test this little puppy.
Plus, so many tablets have huge issues with Delta Studio, that is, they do not work. Now I know you iPad people are all saying “what issues” but then again you are not paying sub $50 for any iTablet right?
This AlldayMall A88X 7″ tablet <-LINK is impressive for what it is. Understand this is NOT meant to be an all day, every day tablet. I got this for the price and to have something to beat up, take to the beach and such and not care if I kill it one day. Plus, I want it to use for Delta Studio. So I tested it. Here are the tech bits about it.
- Operating System: Android 4.4
- Screen Size: 7 inches
- Max Screen Resolution: HD 1024 x 600 pixels
- Processor: Up to 1.0GHz Allwinner A33 Quad Core
- RAM: 512MB
- Hard Drive Capacity: 8GB NAND Fast Flash
- Extend Card: Supports up to 32GB TF card
- Display Technology: 5-point capacitive touchscreen
So it is worth $40 or so bucks. To me it is a perfect fit for my targeted needs. It is so light I can hold it all day long. The sound quality is nice and it works perfectly with Delta Studio.
Now a bunch of tech bits. First off, for those of us who use Android, we know there are many things that are not supposed to work with some version of Android but do. That is a nice part about Android, that is, you can tweak it.
If you do pick up one of these tablets then fire it up and open the browser as I have to save you time put up the “APK” files you can install once you have checked the box to allow such installs (in settings).
The most important one to update right away is the Google Play store app. <-LINK
Next the now unsupported but working flash player app <-LINK
Delta says the tablet does not work but it does. Here is the 3.7 app <-LINK
Lastly we have the 3 important Gogo apps you need HERE and HERE and HERE
Then you are all set. With the updated play store you can update all the other apps you want.
Just for grins I tested Star Wars Angry Birds to see how it does. While the game worked smoothly the glass on this table has some texture or anti glare type feature. This is nice for watching movies and reading books but a bit less so for games. Card games worked just fine.
Overall I am stunned I could get such an inexpensive tablet that fills my needs. Battery life seems good and I estimate 4-8 hours watching movies (I watched some on MP4 also they were perfect too). Reading books I think it would last a very long time on one charge.
The only drawback I can see, for such a cheap price, is storage. It does not have much. But you can pick up a 32GB TF card for cheap should you want to expand the storage space! – René

IDENTIFY YOUR TABLET! Tape a business card to the back of your tablet. I placed my iPad in a seat pocket, forgot about it and boarded a connection flight where I discovered what I had done. It was too late. DL sends items found to a clearing house in Huntsville, AL. I contacted them and without a serial number they couldn’t identify the item, as they had over 200 similar white iPads on the shelf. Fortunate for me, I still had the receipt with the info. I got it back in two days.
I just do not understand how to make a tablet work with Delta studio. It is completely frustrating and inexplicable the requirement limitations on Android.
@Young_Thorogh – You are not talking this tablet you are talking another one is my guess? Yes, many are no working with Delta Studio with 5+ Android upgrades. The key things to try are (including linked in this post):
.
Run Chrome
Run the 3 Gogo apps
Run Flash app
Then hope it works. I would be nice if Gogo worked harder to support more but they seem not to care. Frustrating. That is why I got this tablet with somewhat older OS and and NOT updating the OS!
FINALLY have my Dell Pad working on DL now that the onboard system supports Windows 7. I was finally able to watch a movie from MSP to LAX on my Dell instead of my iPhone!
Any idea on how to get Delta Studio to work with my Asus Touchscreen Laptop running Win 10 and crome? I gave up months ago. Super fustrating.
@E – Windows 10 is not supported by Delta and Gogo.
forgot… it is also a 64bit system
