My wife did NOT get 500 IHG points from mail-in promo. She got something else! :-)

ihg priceless surprises game from mail in entry renes points blog (1)

My wife and I spent a ton of time filling out 94 letters each all by hand including addressing the envelopes by hand. We sent out her batch a week before mine.

Well on last Thursday she got 25 (clickable links) and then Friday morning another batch of 28. I assume the rest are on the way.

Our all in cost per person for these was about $60 each and we even earned Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 5x for using my Chase INK card <-LINK at Staples to buy all the bits including the stamps! #Winning Today she clicked on her 1st link. This is what happened.

Yep, her very 1st play she won a $50 Mastercard gift card. Shortly after that she was sent:

So it seems it will be some kind of electronic Master card gift card but that is just fine by me I will take a $50 e-Gift card over 500 IHG points (the minimum default you will win each time you play).

She has not clicked on another link as we are going to spread out the clicks day by day for the contest as it goes on until March 15th and they are spreading out the goodies week by week!

I still have not received any of mine yet. I will just keep waiting and try to be patient! Also be aware reports are those who used a computer to print the envelopes are getting links so it seems only the 3×5″ card had to be hand written.

Have you won anything yet from the promo? Are you going to play now? – René

I sent out 2 entries as a test, on Nov 16, and haven’t received anything yet. At least somebody is getting something.

I guess I will fill out and send in the last 25 for me … hope they do not get lost … my wife needs to start … what are the odds she will follow through on all entries? Sure wish I had a Renespoints pen to use in filling out these cards …

So I sent in 60 entries on the 9th of November – yesterday got a ton of codes. Won 2 5K points, lots of 500 and – wait for it – today won 1million points. I couldn’t believe it – my son and I were jumping up and down. It says I have to pay taxes on the points – which will be a chunk since they are worth $5,000, but it’s worth it – oh the trips we will be able to plan.

Thanks so much for posting this. I used a stamp for addressing my envelopes so it is very encouraging to hear that others are having success with envelopes that were not hand-written. After ALL that time painfully hand-writing out all those 3×5 cards I would have been crushed if something as simple as the envelope got them all rejected.

Also glad to hear you guys got the gift card and others are reporting they won some of the bigger prizes as well. At first I was jealous of the supposed million-point winner (above), but being taxed on $5,000…I don’t think I would want that prize anyway… :b

Thanks again for posting. I sent in around 30 of mine a couple weeks ago and am yet to receive a link but sounds like everybody is in the same boat. I’ll probably start feeding the rest of mine in again…

Has anyone had the points post to their IHG account?

I received a number of emails staying I had gotten a ‘surprise.’ I clicked through, played the game and won 500 points about 12 hours ago. I have yet to recieve an email with directions to claim those points. Has anyone else had this problem?

I sent in 15 cards around Nov 22 and haven’t received anything. What experience have others had who did not mail in cards immediately at the start of the promo. I’m pretty disappointed.

I haven’t received any emails yet. The cards and envelopes were handwritten. Thought I would post my data points:

    Mailed 5 11/24
    Mailed 30 12/11
    Mailed 40 12/13
    Mailed 19 12/17

Great to see a fellow follower of Rene’s blog scored big points!!! That’s awesome!!! I’ll be happy if I can just get the minimums :-).

    Happy Holidays everyone.

@DaveATL – Yeah I really want mine too. My wife has burned all but 10 and has still only won points and the $50 gift card.
