René here everyone. I would like to take the time to introduce you to John from @LaptopTravel. John will be helping us from now on with Elite Mileage runs here on the blog as well as some guest posts now and then. John finds just some of the most amazing runs EVER and I hope you enjoy his posts!
This is a great weekend First Class Mileage Run to a great destination. It even includes Flat-Bed Seats on DeltaONE on their 757-200 on some segments.
I am seeing dates and different layover stays if you want to use Delta.com simple round-trip flight search tool. This is a no-brainer easy way to get a great start on your 2016 MQM’s quest and you can do it over a weekend, if that’s your preference. You can also do a mid-day run. My example shown below includes a Friday (after the workday) departure out and a Monday evening arrival back at Seattle. Spend two nights in Costa Rica where you are conveniently located up the road from Calebra Bay and two excellent hotels and some fine beaches! Or you can just stay by the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) at the Hilton Garden Inn Liberia Airport, as well as many other choices either east (towards Liberia) or west (towards Calebra Bay.)
Here are the numbers:
Cost: $1,059 in 1st class
13,510 MQMs at 7.8CPM
Bookable on Delta.com
I have tested quite a few connecting hubs and getting LAX/MSP one way and ATL/DTW in the other maximizes your Medallion Qualification Miles. Save your Regional and Global Upgrade Certificates and fly in style; relax and enjoy DeltaONE…then soak up the sunshine and beach life for a couple of days before your return. – John, @LaptopTravel
