This may seem like a strange image to open up the review of arguably the best Sky Club in the Delta system, but for most folks you will be taking the “plane train” to the F concourse. When you step off, the best choice is NOT to take 3 escalators to the top.
Just look for the elevators and pick floor 3 to go all the way up.
You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on a business class international departing (or connecting) ticket, you can also get in free.
Normally there are several reps working but being an international club expect at least one of them to be tied up with some flyer’s issue
Do peek to your right as there is a help desk and if a rep is there they also can check you in.
I really appreciate that Delta does, in most clubs, have self serve kiosk machines for printing boarding passes. Normally not needed but depending on the flights it can be great to have them. There is also a flight board but with the Fly Delta App I never tend to check them anymore.
To the right after entrance is the main seating area with great views outside. It is a large open space with a number of work stations for laptop use.
Also you have access to an Internet connected printer and a shredder should you need to print anything from your devices or shred anything private.
Also you have a rather large quiet “sleeping” room. Just be sure if you use it that you set an alarm on your phone so you don’t miss your flight (almost did that once in LAX off a redeye)!
Also in this main area you have a large set of stairs leading up to a very nice space I tend to enjoy during winter months.
This space is often times either empty, as you can see from my recent visit, or filled with folks sleeping (if the sleeping room is full). Either way, other than the hassle of walking up and down with drinks and food, this is a great place to spend your time in the club.
Now you have a new showcase of the F and E clubs in Atlanta that is a very nice new buffet. Delta has greatly expand the food choices after dumping the custom DeltaONE meal choice that was only open to DeltaONE customers. This buffet is open to everyone in the club.
The highlights to me are the fresh breads to accompany the good soup choices as well as the prosciutto wrapped cheese. Match that with the corn and black bean salad and you have an amazing snack to enjoy!
Then you have what was called a “luxury bar” in the past or just “The Bar” now. Delta has improved the complimentary wines and beers to the point that you really don’t have to pay to have a decent well drink. Impressive.
Next you have one of the most amazing features of any club anywhere, that is, the Sky Deck. It is so nice, on a nice day, to spend time and geek out watching planes go by as well as take off and land. I love the Sky Deck and if you want to find me at the F club this is where you will find me most days!
Then you have a smaller space on the way to the shower area.
As you can see Delta has done this club right and that includes a number of showers.
You have to check in and possibly have your name added to the list if all 8 of the club’s showers are in use. Also, if you need a hair dryer, be sure to ask for one. All the other bits you could need are also available at check-in.
There are so many times I have enjoyed a refreshing shower after a redeye and it is great to have so many available in this club.
I am so impressed with this Sky Club. While still not at the level of a Centurion lounges, this really is one of the nicest lounges you can visit in the USA. – René

Nice review. This is my “home lounge” because I live in ATL. In fact we are going to use it tonight before we fly to LHR. Sometimes in the evenings, the lounge gets quite crowded. So tonight we get to see what is on the “new buffet” that replaced the served to you at your seat meal. Hope it’s good. Delta’s lounge food is a work in progress, and so far, no home run. They should just go to Virgin’s Clubhouse at LHR (for departing flights), and copy their food and service.
@Don – Well don’t expect Virgin LHR as THAT is amazing. This is good compared to other US clubs but not compared to those outside the US 😉
Love the elevator tip – never realized that!
It’s “Delta One” not “DeltaONE”
@Delta Air Lines Tech folks – Thanks for reading the blog from Delta CPU’s. Then again, can we talk about Richard Anderson getting OFCMB seats wrong time after time 😉
You mention usage by coach international, but this is only if you are GM or ST Elite. I’m sure you know that, but forgot to write it.
@Vicente – Yep poorly worded. See comment to Scott.
So am I understanding that even with a Delta international business class tkt you can not get in the Delta sky club lounge unless I also hold elite status?
@Scott – No, if you are in INT biz you get in free OR if you are Elite+ in coach you ALSO get in free. I could have worded it better. Sorry.
When fly international folks usually have had only short connection getting to ALT before the long haul over seas. Who needs a shower? When coming home, and can use a shower, you never depart from F lounge. At DTW you can get a shower after the long haul flight to the USA (if you have the time and the line is not long.) Why visit the F lounge when departing out of the A or B terminal? I am looking forward to checking out the new menu. Thanks for the labor of love to hit all of the lounges in ALT – not a small thing!
I hate to be greedy, since you’ve already spent so much time reviewing all our lounges, but any shot at a summary with which are best, and which are worst? Best features of each? A chart, maybe? ; )
Please? Thanks!
@MBH – I think I mentioned that in post. F is winner clearly. Sky Deck is amazing.
I had this buffet today at lunch and was pleasantly surprised, because i wasn’t expecting anything. There were several pastas, meatballs, plus a large selection of salads that seemed more like “real” food than the normal picked mushrooms and slimy chicken salad than are normally served (although those choices remain available). The staff in the F terminal club also seemed really proactive. There appeared to be a manager who was training employees on improving customer service and a real effort by the staff responsible for the food area to greet each customer as they entered the buffet. I know it’s not the LHR Clubhouse (i’ve been), but it was a nice surprise.
Just enjoyed this lounge. It’s not amex but it’ll do. Additionally thank you for your investor day 2015 review clearly delta doesn’t care about us.
F gate delta club is really great, staff very good ,polite.food to a great standard, and good drinks, Some say best club in the system,it is when John Pilesberg? is working. also i find other clubs, are great, and just depends when you fly, and who.s on the door,, Myself I really like a couple at DTW. I,ve not read all the posts, but is some food just for Delta1 (ha ha, stop nit picking over spelling) saunders family
