Oh I would do this one in a heartbeat if I lived in SLC. The price is sweet and you get to visit the AMEX Centurion DFW (if you are smart enough to have access with the non-Delta AMEX Platinum card) lounge both the day you arrive and the next day before you fly home!
Yes you do have to overnight but there are many cheap hotels on points in the DFW area and you also, if you want, can visit the HardEight BBQ for dinner the night you arrive. This is what I call a FUN RUN and the best points and lowest CPM is via DTW both ways. Check it out:
