This one is a tweak to the already posted ANC-MSP run and is REALLY a good price and since all domestic you have a good shot at upgrades plus it has lots of open dates till year end on weekdays AND weekend at the same price (HT to reader Harlan).
I would really consider if you are a PM or DM to look at using a RU cert for this one to get into 1st class or be at the top of the list as ANC is a long way (you maybe say yeah huhhh but just how far I did not think about last post).
You need to route via MSP both way to get the lowest price and CPM. Take a look:

I like this one how would you suggest positioning from NY?
@JT – By air 😉 the longest way for max MQMs. I am thinking of one. Will fly out day before and then fly home day after run.
Much easier to position to than the one starting in ANC. I’ll use AA miles for transcon business going out, and a JetBlue credit for Mint coming back.
Thanks Renee. Perfect timing – just added this to my ANC-MSM-ANC itinerary. Now just need to get to LAX from DTW. If only Delta would drop the price on that RT through ATL, I’d be dancing!
Hey Renee, great find. I checked Sept Thru March for all dates on that routing for the lowest price of $261-$268 for a 0 or 1 night stay and using my regional upgrades. For all 7 months there was not 1 upgrade available on the LAX MSP leg or the MSP LAX leg on the return. They are protecting that route like it is gold. She said those upgrades for RU would open up, but with all that flying (I would have to position myself from CLT to LAX (miles on AA), I will not sit in coach for any one of those legs.
I booked a CLT to HKG through MSP and SEA using my GU this Sept, and I booked back in March. The only legs not available were the MSP SEA and the SEA MSP on the return. Have you found any of availability for RU and GU in or out of MSP? Or advice?
