For a few more hours, if you are in the NYC area, you can get some free grub at the Shake Shack. A bunch of folks have been there after I tipped off some of the staff at The Points Guy as well as some others.
In Atlanta tomorrow there is another event for a free popsicle for each card shown. That could be fun and a nummy treat on what is projected to be a very HOT summer day in Atlanta!
But how do you find out if there is an event in your area? THIS handy tool seems to indicate all you have to do is type in your SkyMiles number and it will spit out if there is one near you. However, The Points Guy employee as well as my fellow BA blogger Rapid Travel Chai, both who live in the NYC area, did not list the event today. Nor did MJ on Travel when he tested show the Atlanta event tomorrow (he lives in Atlanta area).
So, bottom line, the handy tool is not so handy. Delta has been tweeting a ton about the events so that, for now, may be the best way to follow along for events.
I also find the terms and conditions link at the bottom of the event tool interesting. I don’t know if it applies to ALL the events or if only for today’s event. Plus the Atlanta one seems to be only for ONE but if you have more than one Delta AMEX card you seem to be able to get more. I guess I would show them the site T & C and say hey it says max 4 if you have the kids along etc!
Please do me a favor and let me know and comment on this post if you find more of these events down the line and I will update them with an “edit” with that day’s event and tweet that out as well.

I love my Delta Platinum card and the invitation to Shake Shack was most welcome. Tried getting in at 7 this evening and the wait outside was more than 30 minutes. I don’t blame anyone, but I wasn’t going to wait for a free burger. Went to Docks across the street and we had a delicious simple fish dinner………for $125 !!!
@Alan – Hope you did not pay with your Delta AMEX for that 🙂 as CSP or AMEX PRG pay more points at restaurants!
