I hope Karen Zachary, Managing Director SkyMiles, gets the numbers and results from this survey that I am sure she will get. I hope that seeing how upset we are at all the crushing changes will wake up the SkyMiles team that at some point enough is enough. Being an eternal optimist I hope Delta can fix, really, the only thing really broken at Delta – SkyMiles. Everything else, for the most part, just works smashingly. But let’s take a look at the targeted survey they are sending out and if you have not got it yet, think how you would vote (PS – You can do a slide show of all the shots in order by clicking the 1st slide).
What is not to like? Delta is paying me $2.50 to complete a short survey? Sorry, 250 SkyMiles but then again $2.50 is the new norm right? 😉 I also am part of another focus group that I can earn about 250 SkyMiles a month to take part in other surveys and feedback on a regular basis.
A hard slide. Love the product, people etc. Hate hate hate SkyMiles right now. SkyMiles, my dear Delta, is part of “everything”.
Humm… I would tell my family good A-B but just about a worthless award program for the time being. I would tell my family who are paying for their own tickets to consider all airlines (I would have never said that last year).
I am just sorry there was not a response lower than “1” to choose on this one. A negative number would have been better.
And yet, I would have loved to have an “11” here. They get it with the Medallion program (mostly).
Crazy and kinda shows their thinking. I still care about MQMs but $kyRubles are pointless. I voted accordingly.
Oh this one was fun. Try and find LEVEL 1 award tickets in business class just about anywhere and partners are a mess as we know. Plus we know if you can not find LEVEL 1 with Delta and mix partners you pay 2x or 3x for tickets. You can guess how I voted.
Sure paying 10,000 (or 5,000 for that matter), is better than 12,500 for a one-way but not if we are going to a penny a point.
Mixed bag on the next set of drop down questions. Mostly good but not $kyPub access clearly after the $29 +1 fee change. Same goes for SDC and SDS rules that change again and again.
Strange thing to toss into this survey. But yes, the app is nice with all the new features (other than the constant up-sell offers that is).
Ah, this is interesting. They want to know if we have matched or are flying other airlines as a standard or elite flyer. I have not matched others, yet.
Crossover Rewards questions. Interesting. I really like the program. Scratch that, I LOVE the program as I am earning SPG points that are really valuable. What is not to love. Those are really valuable points. Interesting also that they want to know where you found out (my guess, Delta Points blog 🙂 )!
Well that was a very interesting set of questions regarding SkyMiles, the Medallion program and more. I wish, like the surveys I get over Delta flights that give rewards to Delta people, I could just have given top marks without thinking twice.
Maybe, just maybe, Delta will listen to the results of this survey and will get the feedback I am sure everyone will send them. What do you think of the questions? How would you have voted or will you vote if you get targeted with this survey? – René

Interesting that the survey asks about systemwide upgrades which are no longer offered. Are they lumping RUCs and GUCs into this category or just talking about GUCs? RUCs aren’t systemwide. For me, the answer depends. GUCs are great. RUCs not so much.
Rene, your wishing for “11” on the SkyMiles survey reminds me of the scene in the rockumentary Spinal Tap. This is the guitar amplifier that goes to 11 (instead of 10) to give them that “extra push over the cliff.” Rob Reiner replies, “why don’t you just make 10 a little louder.” His point is that ordinal number scales have limited meaning and do not support mathematical functions such as +, -, x, and /. This means that when the survey returns average scores to Delta, they have no mathematical meaning.
Rene, can you set up a similar survey on your blog so your readers can take this survey? Delta folks read your blog and it might be interesting to see how your readers respond versus the results delta gets from their targeted survey. Targeted surveys are always a little suspect but, then again, aren’t most poll questions?
I received a VERY similar survey several months ago, though it didn’t promise 250 miles. Of course, I registered my dissatisfaction.
I wish that I had been targeted. We knew that devaluation of the SkyMiles Debit World MasterCard was impending but not exactly when or how bad. I just received my notice – earning rate slashed in half as of 7/25/2015!
Who got this? I sure didn’t. I’m PM. Was is only to Diamonds?
i never get any of these targeted surveys
