ke seat news

Just a real quick update that is a very good change. In the past, on Korean Air, you had to set a reminder to call and get your preferred seats at the 90 day mark before your flight. As of Wednesday that has changed.

As you can see from the Korean Air updates page:

“Customers who have purchased economy class tickets or, customers with First/Prestige class reservations. From April 8, 2015 (10:00L/KST) : 361 days ~ 48 hours before departure (Domestic Prestige Class : 24 hours before departure)”

This does NOT mean you can simply go on Delta.com and pick seats, you will still have to call Korean Air to choose your seats (Note: Delta reps say they may be able to select seats but I would NOT trust this to stick).

no seats on ke on delta-com

You will need to call Delta, get your Korean Air PNR for your trip, then call Korean at 800-438-5000. I would also take a peek at the Korean Air section on SeatGuru before you call to pick the best seat for your upcoming trip! – René

    Do you have any suggestions on the best biz seats for 2 on their A380?

      @Deborah – I do not but check SeatGuru and maybe others can chime in!

    @Rene-Thanks. I’ve checked but it doesn’t help me pick the location other than I don’t want to be in the back by the bar! I was wondering if it’s better to be mid-cabin or back of the front mini-cabin even though it also has a small self serve bar. Hopefully some of your readers will chime in!

    Korean is nice, but without MQM accrual, it would be hard for me to spend a lot on a ticket.

      @William – Please don’t spend money, spend SkyRubles 😉

    @Deborah. Personally l like the rear cabin, seat 21A. The window seats have a good amount of handy storage for headphones, newspapers, pillows etc. Only once have I heard any noise from the bar. It is often deserted, but if you get a rowdy crowd back there noise-canceling headsets can take care of that and the FAs are mindful of potential disturbances. The mid cabin seems too large. The front cabin is nice if you don’t care to spend much time in the rear lounge, and you get off faster on arrival. There could be as many as 94 souls in business class on this monster. It comes down to personal preferences since all of the choices are good.

    How embarassing that an airline that styles itself as a ‘leading carrier’ still doesn’t allow customers to choose their seats online. How utterly backward.

    Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has been able to choose seats on Korean Air with Delta code share lately. I tried calling Korean Air with our KE reservation numbers, but they said I needed to call the Delta Code Share Department, but they couldn’t help either. Our flight is in 110 days, so I’m wondering if I still have to wait for the 90 day window? We are traveling with a group of four and don’t want to get separated. Thanks very much for any help!
