OK, I know this is just silly. After all, I have my last two years of Delta Diamond Medallion tags still (no I did not sell them on Ebay like most others). But it still just bugs me for some reason.
What really bugs me is not having my HOOU and JWD certs. Now I know you are saying René you have only missed 2 upgrades this year. True, but I have been stuck on some CRJ200s and a HOOU would be nice then. Plus, there have been both gate agents and phone reps I have wanted to give JWD certs to, but I dont have them to give out yet.
So I want to know if I am all by my lonesome here. Please you tell me fellow medallions, are you still waiting for your Delta BRAGTAGS? – René

Hi Rene. I am a regular reader of your column. I’ll tell you what I do. I take my Alaska Airlines MVP Gold card, drill a hole in it and attach it to my bag. Abracadabra the problem solved in under a minute.

Still from 2014 or for making DM in like 2 weeks in 2015? If you are waiting for 2014 that sucks. If it’s 2015 just stop it. BTW I took my status match Alaska MVP 75K MVP tags and put them on top of my DM tags just for grins. Got looks but no comments.
Rene, on a serious note, there is an upside to what I do. My MVP Gold card turned into a bag tag just has my name and MVP gold number so I don’t have any personal information showing like my address and phone number. If my bag is lost, Alaska knows how to get in touch with me.

Forget the tags. The HOOU’s sure they were nice. Tags are for people who want to feel special (no offense love ya Rene). Nothing better than getting 90% upgrades in flip flops and cargo shorts ordering a screw driver before take off having all the ‘suits’ looking at ya ‘what in the heck!?’ My reality. Fly safe and enjoy life incognito 😉

Speaking of tags, every brag tag I have had ever from delta and other airlines disappears after I check a bag. That’s four. I think a baggage handler is taking them to sell.
I’m a diamond too and rec’d them over a month ago. Packaging was lame compared to last few years and the new tag is more bold than in past, almost more tacky….if a clanking metal tag can be. No more wires, flat oval shape to attach instead of round hole for wire….zip ties work. Regular reader keep up the great work Rene.
If you got a medallion kit other than on March 1 last year, delta is not sending you another one this year.
