I tweeted out yesterday an announcement that was not a joke (I am sure most took it as such). From now on I will, unless I am talking about something that could be confused or a quote from the mothership, always refer to Skymiles as SkyRubles.
My reasons are really quite clear and let me break it down for you and see if you do not agree. The Russian currency, the Ruble, as of today is worth just 1.6 cents to the dollar (Sorry SkyPesos are too valuable a term to use). This is a realistic value of a SkyRuble as well. Also notice the trend of the SkyRuble, ah hem, Ruble. Yeah about the same as the value of a Skymile over the past year or so with MASSIVE devaluations like the end of stopovers and open jaw awards and the extreme work it takes to get Delta people to price out an award at what the charts say they should be (btw don’t tell me there are no charts anymore because Delta people are telling the press NOTHING HAS CHANGED)!

Next we have the leadership and policies. The oligarchy and the ‘we do not care what happens to the SkyRuble program’ attitude very much mirrors the value of the Ruble. The Russian currency is, IMO, hopelessly broken due to Putin’s leadership and same goes for the SkyRuble team. If those in charge could care less about such a massive slide then the label fits. There is the added plus of Aeroflot being a Skyteam member (so fitting to me).
Also, just because I think it really ties in well with this post, voting has opened up for the 2015 Freddie awards that will happen on April 30th, 2015 in Atlanta at the Delta Flight Museum and you can vote HERE for who you think should win this year. I will not tell you who I voted for but I think you can maybe just guess who I picked after all of the #KeepDescending events Delta has done in the past year(s)! – René

@Charlie – Give it time, I am sure with more “enhancements” on the way 1MARCH it will not take long to get there. 🙁
Guess that means I have to change from Woodford’s to skunk vodka!
I voted and Delta didn’t get a single vote from me!
SU is actually a good airline with 99%Boeing and Airbus fleet and genuine business class product intra Europe. It beats the KL/AF product by far and the FAs are great.
I VOTED
I voted as well and DL got zero votes from me in any of the categories.
It’s going to be so ironic when the winners are announced in the Delta museum and Delta wins nothing.
I’m Charlie Anderson, and we at Delta have always got your backs – up against a wall!
I just voted for the freddie awards. It will be great when AS CEO Brad Tilden goes up on stage at the DL Museum to accept the awards!
No votes for Delta. Ha!
