Last Thursday I took the Delta shuttle to LaGuardia from Chicago to visit the American Express Centurion lounge LGA for lunch (since I had not been there yet) after having visited the DFW Centurion lounge, the SFO Centurion lounge and the LAS Centurion lounge this year thanks to my non-Delta AMEX Platinum card that grants me entrance for free. More on the Delta shuttle later, but now on to the lounge review and how to get there.

Depending on where you land it may or may not be a quick transit to the lounge that is outside security in Terminal B. I came in to the Marine terminal so I had to take the A shuttle bus that only takes about 15 minuets to ride around but can take another 15 minutes to show up so plan for that. If you are coming from the outside, look for the above

Specifically #9 and the doors behind you will take you right to where you need to go.

Then take the elevators up to the 3rd floor and take a left.

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog inside entrance (2)

Hard to miss the entrance, but you are definitely outside the main airport area.

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog entrance

Entrance looks very familiar Centurion with a wall of green.

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog view from checkin (1)

To the right you have a seating area and hallway to the restaurant area

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog view from checkin (2)

Just to the left of the desk you have what I guess you can term a business room

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog first room off checkin (1)

This space is a nice sized room and much quieter than the restaurant area.

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog computers and printer

There are also two computers and a printer for your use in this room.

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog view

And the view, for #AVgeeks, is a nice wall of glass looking out over the airport.

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog dining area

Next we have the main dining and bar area. This really is a small area for the amount of seating and felt crowded even with many open tables.

The buffet, like most of the food at Centurion lounges, was very good and worth trying.

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog lunch

I very much enjoyed the soup, chicken and Italian bruschetta with mozzarella accompanied with a pleasant Pinot Noir. There were other side choices but I wanted to save room for:

Centurion Lounge LGA LaGuardia Airport american express delta points blog dessert

A nice chocolate sampling with a cognac for dessert. All were very nice.

Some other bits. Unlike the upscale features like a SPA in DFW or a luxury wine bar in SFO this lounge is just what you see. No showers either sad to say. Still, compared to any Skyclub, a very nice way to spend a few hours before your next flight (just plan for enough time to get to your terminal and through security after your visit)! – René

PS – I was told Miami Centurion is delayed till May – June time frame for it’s grand opening.

I don’t understand why American Express would invest all of this money into a lounge that’s in an odd part of New York L.G.A. and on the wrong side of security. To me, it just doesn’t make sense.

Now if only there was one at Detroit D.T.W. or Washington D.C.A.

Very disappointed in this lounge went last week over crowded a little dirty and $50 for fried chicken is rediculous. Nothing like the Las Vegas lounge that I had tried prior Definately not worth it
