I love this time of the year. The air is becoming crisp outside. The leaves have fallen and the first touch of snow is in the air and most importantly it has been long enough (more than 3-4 months) since I applied for any travel cards!
The first one was a simple choice that is the British Airways Visa Signature Card. As I talked about this weekend all the perks of this card make it a great choice for me to get especially since it had been more than 24 months since I had received a new card bonus for this card. I am not a Delta hub captive but Chicago has more than a few AA planes in and out so a simple choice when I don’t want to fly Delta or can’t find the low level seat I want for some trip. I may also, since I have always wanted to try it, eat the MASSIVE fuel surcharge and fly British 1st class to Sweden soon. What about my results? I got the please call screen as you see above, confirmed all my info, and was approved with a sizable credit line. Nice. Lisa will also go for this card shortly with her next round. Now on to card two.
I did not get a screen shot of the “we will get back to you” from my application for another US Bank Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature® Card. I canceled my old card a little while back but I have no reason not to believe they will do anything but approve me in a few days (they always have). I have, since long ago, frozen my ARS & IDA reports that help in approvals from US Bank. Earning, after spending $2,500 in the first 90 days, another 85,000+ Club Carlson points and Gold status for another year just works!
This last card was a simple no brainer. I just about always toss in one of these during each new round of cards and why not? They let you have the same card over and over even when you already have 1 or 2 of them. You always want to just cancel this card rather than transfer lines when that time comes as they pull your credit even to consolidate credit lines! But, this Alaska Air card, gives me 26,000 points after I spend $1,000 and they will give me $100 statement credit that more than offsets the 1st year non-waived $75 card fee. So they net pay me $25 and I get 26k points. Yes please!
That is my latest round from applications yesterday. I am confident I will maintain my 100% approval for all cards I have gone for years and years and years. The same will go for Lisa as she has only ever had ONE NO and it was from Barclay’s (they can be really persnickety btw). But the cards Lisa will pick soon should be no issue. That, however, is for a later post! – René

So if I understand your post correctly, you can get the Alaska card multiple times, and get the bonus each time? In other words, I should be adding this to every churn cycle?
@Jacob – You bet ya! I would go for at least 2 cards per year (and peak at business ones too). Be sure to cancel them when next year fee hits as they DO A HARD CREDIT PULL to combine credit lines with BofA so no point to do that.
