70k Ink plus offer 2014

The extended 70,000 point  Ink Plus® Business Card offer is great news for a bunch of us who need a few more days since you now have until the 19th of October! However, can you get a second one? And, do you need an EIN or would an EIN help you?

First off, you can read about how simple and quick it is to get an EIN. I have one for my small business as do many others. Thus, I can get an INK card for that business as well as my other business I run in the summer time only (I custom build golf clubs as a sole proprietor and got a second card to keep spending separate on that card). Others perhaps get an EIN for banking only reasons (one of the choices).

Bottom line is the 70,000 point  Ink Plus® Business Card offer is one of the best offers that has been out in the public and the extra days to apply has been great news for many travel enthusiasts! – Rene

    Great info. Thanks. 2 questions:

    1. If I get a free EIN on the federal IRS site, must I register the business in my state? If “it depends,” then my next question would be: does registration matter in the Chase app?

    2. Reading your post, I’m still not sure if getting an EIN will help me get a Ink. There are steps here, but does an EIN actually improve one’s chances of approval or is a SSN just as useful. I’ve heard that EIN apps are actually more scrutinized.

@Beck – Check with your state. As to Q2 I would think it would only HELP you. YMMV. It helped me get two (one with EIN one with SSN).

Lets say I have two Business cards one from SSN and other from EIN (Ink Plus in this case), will that make me eligible for two promotion bonuses?

@Shaan – It should. There should be no reason you can not have one card for each biz. Now, having said that, and I know a personal friend who has done just that, card two took a few months to get AOK from Chase. It may take time.

First, using a sole proprietorship for any business is just plain wrong. There are no circumstances that anyone should use this form of business.

Second, you can only get an EIN for a sole proprietorship if you have employees or a Keogh plan.
