It looks like some really exciting food choices are on the way over the next year or so in DTW. I was sad to see Chili’s go recently but it looks like it will be back in the OLD NWA club in the smaller concourse.
A brand new PF Chang’s will go in near A36. I have not yet been to the one they built in ATL but I am planning on a visit soon.
A Longhorn steak for a meal before a nonfood Delta flight? Yes please!
As you can see there is a bunch on the way. You can download THIS PDF to see all that is in the works. – René
PS- Don’t forget I am giving away a GOLD BAR this week!

Some of this is good but some of it has been horrible. The Starbucks by the fountain and the central crossing was great but was always too busy. Opening two smaller ones helped, but it made no sense to close the main one as well as the old food court location. Starbucks is much better than Caribou Coffee and other options at DTW. Also, there’s still a lack of healthy, natural food options at DTW.
All you need at DTW is the National Coney Island! As a Detroit boy it’s a little taste of home every time I have a layover there! Not really healthy but how much airport food really is?
Ugh….more cheap processed junk. Color me impressed when you can healthy food in airports, my travel expense and my BMI seem to have a positive correlation.
Going thru DTW in Dec, never been there, will have some extra time to check it out.
Current beef is the only 1 on upgrade list with 7 seats open and still not upgraded with 8 hrs to go
If you buy a magazine or a pop or anything from the store in front of TGF, you get a 10% discount off your bill at TGF when you show your receipt. Also applies to another restaurant but I cannot remember the name now.
PS: TGF at DTW is really bad. Tried it twice.
Jakub: I’m biased because I live in Detroit but honestly Detroit is the best Delta hub. It’s still new-ish at 12 years. Other major airports — Atlanta in the winter and JFK whenever — are a nightmare. Detroit is pathetically easy and has a good selection of shops. All that’s missing is some healthy food options.
National Coney Island has been certified as health food by the Detroit Visitors & Convention Bureau!
gosh I wonder when the PF Changs trial will be …?
@Texasyankee – I can’t wait!
In ATL why would anyone eat somewhere other than One Flew South? Real food with a southern twist and great cocktails. I specifically allow for longer layovers in ATL so I can enjoy a good meal.
@Richard – maybe we can request a 1 flew north for DTW? 😉
DP: sad to see chili’s go, really?….. and worse it will move and replace the large (usually quiet) sky club in C! What is good about that? …and what is good about longhorn steakhouse ?
@EL – no, the club is the OLD club that is now empty.
Was glad to see the Longhorn sign there last weekend. Really like some of these new choices. Is Chick Fil A replacing the Taco Bell? Because that is an excellent replacement.
