Thanks to a heads up from my twitter follower Rob (thank you, thank you, Rob) I was alerted that this weekend Delta has rolled out some new schedule changes over the next few months. So what, you ask?
Well, we all should know the power of the mighty schedule change rule. It truly is the ticket to joy and more points. Take my above for example. I am flying a positioning flight out to LAX before my sub $600 GU cert to Sweden trip. I was connecting via DTW but getting in later than I wanted and NOT on a very good product.
Now, after this latest schedule change, I am getting in at a MUCH better time, and on a 777 full flat on my ride to LAX! SCORE! Oh and I will pick up a few extra MQMs and RDMs as well (never a bad thing, right) with help from my outstanding friends from CWSI and their handy dandy Skymiles calculator.
So if you have not taken a peek at your upcoming trips you may want to do so today! – René
PS – Be sure to enter to WIN 15,000 MQMs this week!

So what are your options if the schedule change causes you to miss your connection (25 min arriving on an international flight)and your connection is the last flight to your destination for the day? If you opt for a morning flight, will they provide a hotel and food vouchers?
@Deborah – read the linked post please. You have wide open options on Delta metal.
Thanks. We’re on the only flight from SXM to JFK and will miss the connect back to SLC. I will read the post but quickly could I change our destination?
@Deborah – You can cancel but changing destination is doubtful. You could probably change arrival or departure by a day!
If I remember right you are using your RU certs to get to LAX, if they cleared on the original flights do you have the right for Delta to clear them on the NEW flights due to THEIR schedule change?
@Chris – they have to have space open for a RU on the change flight but due to the schedule change they can at times override it and work it out if you catch my drift 😉
I love the space up front on these 772s from ATL to LAX, but I hate that they’re not equipped w/ wifi. Though I guess I could also grumble about facing away from the windows, but the space is still great.
