I don’t get involved in politics. It is not good to get readers mad at one another. I like all my readers (well other than that one guy but he “says” he no longer reads the blog)!
Anyway, as you can imagine, our mothership was not all too happy about this morning’s post but, as the comments show, I am not the only one seeing the pricing bug affect them. A few even got a better deal (but the far minority). As of lunch time today I could still recreate the same bug and even made a video of the attempted booking. If I can learn how to fuzz out my personal info I will post it to YouTube for all to enjoy.
What else. Over at DeltaMileageRun.com I have been gleefully and giddily not only blogging but booking mileage runs to Sweden and to Norway thanks to NAI. Who is NAI ya say? It is a company called Norwegian International who wants to base in Ireland and, according to the fear mongers, fly with very bad pilots. Hogwash. The DOT, thanks to political pressure, seems to be holding up their approval to fly in / to the USA and that has put on hold an order for 20 more Boeing Dreamliners. Sad. Gosh I love what their pricing does to Delta’s over inflated prices to Europe!
Then there is “The Transparent Airfares Act“. This little gem will make it so we no longer have one price for an airline ticket. We will only see the base fare, maybe $1 or even less, then we have to guess the taxes when comparing prices. Oh such fun that time will be. The airlines love the idea. Any idea the airlines love, I am generally against as we are going to get the short end of the deal.
Oh and as Gary, View from the Wing, points out, yet another airline is going to charge for carry-on’s. Please don’t go giving Delta any ideas, Gary. Charging for boarding order & carry on bags? What is next and what is left to charge us for? At some point this is not funny anymore.
I am ready for Monday to be over – you? – René
