My fellow BA blogger Loyalty Traveler Ric Garrido popped up this promotion yesterday with all the T&C of the Hilton Latin American & Caribbean offer. However, one thing that bugs me about Hilton is they make promotions so hard to register for on their home page and there is always fine print (i.e. you can register but then not have some setting right and thus not get the points you thought you were going to get)!
Notice what it says at the bottom of the promotion page. You must “Select Points & Miles at your Double Dip”. That – is a mouthful. How do you do that? Just follow these “simple” steps.
Once you are logged in to Hilton then go to My Account and Preferences. Then My Earning Style Preference and finally Change Earning Style (oh and be sure to put Skymiles and your Skymiles number in too!)!
Then lastly pick what they asked you to Points & Miles. So simple right! 😉
Then you can register for the promotion knowing all the settings are right to get the bonus. Lastly, be sure to check the full list of participating hotels as you only get the bonus for those listed! – René

This is awesome! My PR hotel is listed and I can always use the extra points.
The one thing I don’t do is double dip. I get max Hilton points, so I will have to switch BEFORE I check in and then switch back after I check out.
That should count for the bonus points, right?
