I am on my quest to reach Platinum status with SPG this year. So, before my latest mileage run last week, I went ahead and spent 4000 SPG points at the MKE Sheraton since I am a HUGE Sheraton fan. I am NOT a fan of the Sheraton Brookfield Hotel !
As a Gold SPG I was offered nothing. Not just nothing, but I think the worst room in the hotel.
I love a high floor king room. I was given a high traffic area double room.
It was not good. The bed linens had holes and were thin. Even the chair was stuck at a strange tilt!
The furniture was beat up and showed it’s age.
The TV was horrid and had lines on almost all channels.
The carpet was dirty and spotted.
The bathroom was small and I hate it when the towels are inside the shower.
There was no robe that I love to see on the club level rooms.
The view outside was.. well.. you can see for yourself.
I did not play with the health and fitness area.
Nor did I have breakfast as I just wanted to go ASAP!
Nor did I test the work center.
And the staff at the entrance did not seem to care that I had a bad stay at all.
Bottom line, I would AVOID this Sheraton if you have a visit to Milwaukee any time soon. This hotel and the staff are not up to the “Sheraton” standard. For me, there are two more SPG hotels in the Milwaukee area so at least I have other choices for my next trip and I have booked a room at the Aloft next! – René
PS – I speaking of MKE there is an OK MR price from there to SFO.
I have updated the MR page.

This looks like the Ritz, compared to the Sheraton Mission Valley. I don’t know what it is about this brand, but they seem to have either average or really old, dingy properties.
@Ariana – I have found most Sheraton’s to be very nice. At least on my trips.
Hi Rene
It was a pleasure speaking with you on Twitter today!
I apologize for your last stay at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel.
Our last major renovation was completed in 2008. We will be starting our next multimillion dollar renovation in October of 2013! We expect to have this completed by January of 2014.
This will replace all carpeting, desks, chairs, sofas and drapes.
I’m glad our Front Desk was able to offer you a choice of your Gold member Welcome Drink or the 250 Welcome Starwood Preferred Guest points.
Gold members are entitled to an upgraded room type upon arrival, if available. I apologize we did not have an upgraded room available.
We do have robes available for any guest who requests one. All you have to do is dial 0 for Guest Services and a team member will be more than happy to deliver a robe.
I’m sorry we didn’t have a better view available. Ocean and mountain views are hard to come by in Brookfield, Wisconsin 🙂
When you’re next in town, please feel free to contact me directly and I would love to ensure you have a wonderful stay.
Thank you for staying at the Sheraton and giving us your feed back. I have already passed your comments on to our department heads.
We hope you’ll give us another chance in 2014 with our brand new hotel!
Warm regards,
Kimberly J.

@Kimberly J – Thanks for commenting on the blog and the remodel plans as it is really needed (clearly seen in the photos). Yes as talked about the ONLY good thing that came from my stay was getting a few points back after this miserable stay (a full point refund would be been a nice offer but ah well). I hope you think twice about putting any GOLD or PLATINUM SPG members with a view of a trash can and smoking employees area. Not expecting a view of mountain, just not trash! I will let you know if I ever decide to try your location again. – Rene
The fastest and easiest way to achieve Platinum status is to request a platinum challenge and then book an 18-night stay at a dirt cheap four points or aloft property.
@AL – well yes, that works, but I will need to stay a bunch at SPG so doing it the std way with stays and SPG credit cards.
This place is a dump; years ago it was a Marriott and slightly better. But it is NOT near the airport and is not classified as an airport hotel, it is in suburban Milwaukee.
@Joe – yes it is about a 10-15 min drive to the airport and it is west of the airport! Keep this in mind if you want to use their shuttle!
Not surprised, Brookfield is just a dumpy strip mall. There are much nicer hotels in downtown milwaukee…
